ALL-NEW ARC! ALL-NEW JUMPING-ON POINT! “THE COALITION” – PART ONE!
A once-loyal agent has defected from the ranks of MI6’s most elite espionage unit…and Ninjak has been dispatched across the globe to prevent his secrets from plunging the world into chaos. But in the shadows of Mexico City, Colin King is about to discover something far more deadly… The Ninja Programme’s own former sensei, the Jonin, has assembled a conspiratorial circle of enigmatic enemies – the Dying One, Kostiy the Deathless, Linton March, and The United’s Ultimo – for a purpose so sinister that even Ninjak can’t risk engaging them alone. Enter Livewire, Punk Mambo, Dr. Mirage, and GIN-GR – Ninjak’s brand-new black ops team with a very specific set of skills…and a license to kill the unkillable!
PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
Fights to the death, new enemies revealed and more questions waiting to be answered. Those are just a few of the treats that await Ninja-K fans in issue #6. And at the end, a very exciting cliffhanger of sorts that sets up something even more epic for issue #7. Christos is going full throttle and there’s no stopping him now from dishing out a super finale eventually.
Juan provides some new and different art for everyone. It has the familiar tinge of previous persons who have worked on the new series. But there is that obvious difference that makes it fresh and intriguing to see. And that goes double for the designs of a host of new villains making first-time appearances into the plot.
Jordie Bellaire is a very well-known name in comics as a storyteller and a colorist. So it is only natural that she comes alongside Christos and Juan to be a part of the team for the latest Ninja-K installment. Her coloring style stands on its own two legs, unique and helps to pull the eye along each page.
A Larger World Studios delivers the final blow of excellence. New villains means new lettering to play around with, styles and fonts. All for the purpose of making each of them stand out and have a voice that is all their own. So that when issue #7 comes out, they will all be easily recognized and reviled utterly.
PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:
May all who pick up issue #6, be aware. It’s jam-packed full of all sorts of goodies: an amazing story, crazy epic art, eye-popping colors and fabulous lettering. The team for the book is each of them fine persons and together they’ve produced top-notch work.
