Jessica Jones Season 2 Starts Filming – Will David Tennant make a Return?

With a steady stream of movies, TV series and Netflix series, there always seems to be more news on the MCU.

Netflix is on a roll and just keeps cranking them out. IronFist has been on Netflix for a few weeks, The Defenders has finished production and The Punisher has been in production for a while. The newest bit of information on the Netflix MCU is that Jessica Jones season 2 has started filming in New York City.

Presumably this season will be after The Defenders, but that is all we really know about the new season. The filming location is the same as used in season 1 for the exterior of Jessica’s apartment and Alias Investigations, so we know that she is probably still there.

There is rumor that Typhoid Mary might be the big villain this season, but there is no confirmation.

The only hint we might have to next season is on IMDB, where the main photo for episode 1 of Season 2 is of David Tennant, who played Kilgrave in season 1. Does this mean he is returning?

  1. No. Tennant is on stage in London until into June. He’s claiming as of a few weeks ago to have nothing lined up for afterwards.

      • One thing that I have learned over time…never trust IMDB. Just like Wikipedia, anyone can edit it. I’m assuming that David’s photo was used because it was handy and they don’t have one yet of the new baddie(s) for season 2.

        • IMDB reliability has dropped over the years, it is a season 1 photo. It was updated at the same time that the season 2 cover photo went up. It is highly probably that it was just a lazy move, but that raises the question of why not put up a new photo of Krysten Ritter instead? I wouldn’t be surprised if there were at least flashbacks because the character still has a lot of baggage to deal with.

We’ll just have to wait and see what news creeps out as they continue to film
