“THE COALITION” spells doom!
For decades, the mysterious figure known as the Jonin trained and tutored the agents of MI-6’s Ninja Programme. In his hands, the men and women of Britain’s most elite secret service were refined into more than spies… They became human weapons capable of inflicting extraordinary damage and defying the laws of nature itself. Now, after decades thought dead, this master killer has resurfaced…and recruited a new circle of undying, seemingly ageless powerhouses from across the Valiant Universe for reasons unknown. The Jonin’s revenge will cast a long shadow – and, to meet it head on, Ninjak has assembled his own squadron of heavy-hitting heroes – including Livewire, Dr. Mirage, Punk Mambo, and GIN-GR – for the ultimate black-ops mission!
PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
Christos brings the conflict into a whole new playing field. Wounds are bound up, battle plans are made. Allies go off to fight against seemingly impossible odds. It is narratives like this that keep showing why Christos was the right choice to helm the Ninja-K series.
For issue #7, Juan’s got some new tricks up his sleeve. One of them involves a ‘new’ player to the game on the side of Ninja-K and his team. The other is over in the enemy camp, which shows the readers just how powerful and prepared the opposition truly is. It will lead up to some really astounding action panels next issue from Juan.
Jordie does some smashing colors this time. Lots of dark hues mixed in with some bright elements. It gives a serious sense to the whole vibe of the book. This is the prelude to a conflict of immense scale and the look and feel of the color choices add to it.
A Larger World Studios does it again. More great lettering, more great dialogue from all the characters. There is a supreme sense of gravity in the letters for the heroes, especially a particular little speech from Ninja-K on page 15. Keep an eye out for that and people will see exactly what this reviewer means.
PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:
It’s the calm before the storm. A final plan of action followed by the first foray into war. A war Ninja-K pulled himself into while discovering the secrets of MI6’s Ninja program. And at the end of this terrible fight, there will be many consequences. What they are, only the next installment will tell.
