PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
Ghost Station Zero #2

Writing:

Antony Johnston steps up the game in the second installment of the series. There’s all manner of intrigue and classic spy elements woven in this issue, making it a fun read for returning fans. Plus there’s a new character introduced that will have readers wanting to get issue 3 when it’s released.

Art:

Shari Chankhamma’s art takes a step up alongside Johnston’s script/story. Baboushka gets herself into more trouble within the pages of the comic, and the plot thickens. Chankhamma’s artwork illustrates that trouble brilliantly and gives readers some joys as classic spy tropes are used and brought to life thanks to her artwork.

Simon Bowland and his work as letterer add their own element to issue #2. He has written some great dialogue for Baboushka and the other characters. Some of it is plucked right from the pages of the best old spy works, but there’s no ripping off here. Simon’s lettering/dialogue stands on its own two feet and puts his mark on the story.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

Baboushka and her mission to track down the Ghost Station Zero take a surprising turn during this issue. There’s adventure around every corner as the team of Johnston, Chankhamma and Bowland pull out the stops and turn things up a notch or six. Double crosses, a deadly death-trap, surprising encounters and high speed chases, many fine elements which bring that extra spice to any good spy adventure. Will Baboushka get further along in her mission to find the Ghost Station Zero? Read issue #2 and find out.

PopCultHQ’s Rating:

5 Out of 5 Stars
