It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a Star Trek show on TV, but CBS is looking to change that with Star Trek: Discovery coming to their CBS All Access platform this fall. Today gave us our first looks of the series, with the first photos released by Entertainment Weekly and the first trailer for the show.
This photo shows Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) and First Officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) who have beamed down to a planet.
We been given the first trailer for the series, which shows us the new uniforms as well as several alien species, along with plenty of action.
Discovery follows the Federation starship from the perspective of First Officer Burnham. The series will serve as a prequel to the original Star Trek, taking place 10 years before we ever met Kirk, McCoy, Spock, Uhura, and the rest of the Enterprise crew. It will also star Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca, James Frain as Sarek, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Stamets, and Doug Jones as Lt. Saru.
An exact premiere date for Star Trek: Discovery has not been set, but will premiere in the fall with the first episode airing on CBS. It will be accompanied by an aftershow titled Talking Trek.
