PopCultHQ’s Kickstarter Spotlight: The Derogatory Tales of Franklin and Ghost Vol. 1

The Derogatory Tales of Franklin and Ghost Vol. 1

Runaway symbiotic organisms from the planet Defilion crash to Earth in search of a good time.

Welcome to another edition of PopCultHQ’s Kickstarter Spotlight!

Our intent is to help raise awareness of Kickstarter campaigns by indie creators of ones we feel you should be aware, hot titles or issues to watch, or ones WE support and think YOU should too! From unknown publishers to creators with tenure…doesn’t matter! This is about helping promote the creators involved and their vision.

Today, PopCultHQ has the privilege in sharing with you a recently-launched Kickstarter campaign from Garrett Gunn (GO WEST, THE FEAR DIARIES) that in only a couple of days is already over 30% funded!

Get ready for…

The Derogatory Tales of Franklin and Ghost is the story of a fox. Well, he isn’t REALLY a fox. He’s an alien. I mean, he IS a fox technically, but only on the outside. The book will be published by Rats and Crows Publishing and will be a 44-page book containing the first story arc, plus concept art, pinups, etc.

In a last ditch effort to see more of the universe before accepting their inevitably boring lives as miners on their home planet Defilion, Franklin and Ghost steal a ship and head out for one last adventure.

When they accidentally crash to Earth, they seek shelter in the bodies of a couple unsuspecting hosts. Hell bent on having a good time, Franklin and Ghost team up for the rage-filled quest of a lifetime. But if they aren’t careful, they may leave a bloody trail of bread crumbs easily followed by those who would seek to destroy them for disobeying interplanetary protocol.

The book is 100% complete and ready to go to the printer upon funding!

Garrett Gunn is a freelance writer and the creator of such properties as The Fear Diaries: Rise of The Dark Mistress and Go West

.

For those of you who don’t know of Nicolas Touris, he is most likely one of the most creative and insanely talented people in independent comics, according to writer Gunn. Touris has drawn a handful of amazing titles (including three of Garrett’s) and continues to impress creators and readers around the world.

Letterer Rob Cannon (SANE6) is one half of the publishing team at Rats and Crows, though he is first and foremost a creator. He has his own titles which he writes, draws, letters and edits and he still finds time to help other creators push their properties.

The cover artist for this series is Marcelo Trom. Marcelo is a comic book artist and art teacher with more then 13 years of experience in the industry. Marcelo aims to publish tutorials for beginners and professionals alike. He also creates design exercises to help artists evolve.
