AfterShock Comics Signs Deal For Worldwide Distribution With Diamond
With just under two years to their name, AfterShock has sent tremors throughout the comic book industry by delivering big titles and attracting big-name talent. The latest news sees the publishing company going big with regards to distribution to English-speaking countries.
As announced this morning via The Hollywood Reporter, indie publisher AfterShock Comics and Diamond Comics Distribution have entered an exclusive distribution arrangement to bring the sought-after titles to the worldwide stage. Now English-speaking countries will have access to books and comics from creators such as Garth Ennis, Marguerite Bennett, Adam Glass, Phil Hester, and Joe Pruett.
Speaking of the BLACK EYED KIDS creator, the Chief Creative Officer/Publisher made a statement in which he points out that this is more than just getting books into more stores. “We are all very excited about advancing our relationship with Diamond to this next level,” said Pruett. “Not only will we now be able to reach more outlets, but it will become much easier for retailers to more accurately order our titles.”
Editor-in-Chief Mike Marts added that the partnership is a win for everyone involved. “This new relationship with Diamond guarantees that a larger universe of both retailers and readers will have access to our rapidly growing arsenal of innovative titles by the best creators in the business.”
Diamond’s sister company, Diamond Book Distributors, will oversee getting collected editions (such as TPBs & HCs) into bookstores globally. As more information becomes available, we will update this article.
