Louisville Anime Weekend (LAW) Cancelled

This past Tuesday, July 5th, Sukoshi Con cancelled their July 29th Louisville Anime Weekend and all future events.

Fans were simply notified via a Twitter message stating, “We regret to announce that LAW has been cancelled and that there will not be any future Sukoshi Con events.”

As far as I can tell, there were no other Sukoshi Con events currently scheduled.

No reason was given for the cancellation, but it was probably tied to their earlier failures and cancellations of previous cons.

They had previously canceled cons in 2015, including  Lousiville Anime Weekend, Destination Anime and Anime Paradise. They had one convention earlier this year in Colorodo, Anime Southwest, which did not fair well after venue changes and guest cancellations. They also had PokeCon in Atlanta in February, however I am not sure how well that one fared.

I have been unable to get a response from anyone associated with Sukoshi. All Sukoshi related accounts have been removed, except for Twitter.

Fans are obviously not happy about this. Some people are reporting that they have gotten ticket refunds through PayPal. No word yet on whether Event Brite is issuing refunds.

As for those with hotel reservations, refunds on those depend entirely on the source they booked through.
