Wizard World Sacramento to Host ‘Hometown Heroes’ Event for Travis Air Base Service Members This Saturday

Wizard World has just announced that, in conjunction with this weekend’s Wizard World Sacramento 3-day comic convention, they will hold their first ever Hometown Heroes event. The convention, known for its wide array of superheroes, will take time out to honor our real-life superheroes. Partnered with Travis Air Force Base, service members will be honored and recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty. Here are all the details regarding the event:

WHO: Wizard World, Inc., the predominant producer of Comic Cons across North America, will host a Hometown Heroes event with Travis Air Force Base on Friday, June 17 at the Sacramento Convention Center.

WHAT: Wizard World, Inc. will host its inaugural Hometown Heroes event in partnership with Travis Air Force Base on Friday, June 17 in Sacramento.

WHERE: Sacramento Convention Center – 1400 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

WHENFriday, June 17, 2016 from 4 – 4:30 p.m.

Travis Air Force BaseTravis Air Force Base service members to be honored at the event include Staff Sgt. Spencer Stone, Maj. Virgil Steele, Master Sgt. Matthew Warren, Tech. Sgt. John Ayre, Staff Sgt. Johnathan Gales, Senior Airman Ian McGuigan, Airman 1st Class Tahj Beaudoin and Airman Sharnette Reyes.

Wizard World CEO John Maatta, COO Randy Malinoff, and all-star talent will honor these service members who have gone above and beyond in the line of duty by delivering a speech and conducting a salute and flag ceremony. Confirmed talent includes Michael Cudlitz, known for his role as Sergeant Abraham Ford in the hit TV series The Walking Dead, Carroll Spinney, the voice of Big Bird, Dean Cain, who played Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Billy Boyd from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and “The World’s Largest Athlete,” WWE Superstar, Big Show.
