Is there a Walker Stalker convention coming to your town this year? If so, in all likelihood you will have the opportunity to be a part of The Walking Dead Experience. This interactive experience based on AMC’s smash hit series The Walking Dead is like a scary haunted house tour but cranked up 1000%. You will be a part of a 30-minute adventure in which you practically immerse yourself within the show. Participants can choose which side to align themselves (survivor, walker, or both) and have professional make-up applied for realism.
According to The Walking Dead Experience website, “you will experience loud and intense audio, low visibility, fog and/or haze, strobe lights, special effects, sudden actions, offensive language, simulated gun fire, uncomfortable and physically demanding conditions including but not limited to running, crawling, crouching, kneeling and squatting.”
The creative team and partners behind The Walking Dead Experience are already working on future exciting immersive attractions that will work in conjunction with the current Chapter 1. For future Walker Stalker Cons, Tours, as well as other large fan events, they are working towards bringing you new terrifying experiences and stories to experience.
This isn’t for the young or faint of heart. The disclaimer states that no one under the age of 15 years of age may participate and they have a list of health conditions which, if you have any, they suggest you not partake in this intense and demanding experience. “You will be safe at all times but it will not seem so during most of the experience.” Well that should put your nerves at ease.
Here are the different packages you can purchase. Note that The Walking Dead Experience is an extremely elaborate production with state of the art special effects, sets, professional performers, and is more like a full stage production or high-level theme park attraction.
Go through the experience in a small group (up to 7 people). The Survivor Experience is approximately 30 minutes – not including any wait time.
Get made up as a walker by a professional make-up artists and “perform” for 30 minutes in a small group, (up to 15 people), at two different locations within the attraction. The Walker Experience is approximately a 1 hour experience (including the make-up process).
The survivor/walker combo ticket allows you to have the full “Survivor Experience” and then get made up as a Walker by a professional make-up artists and “perform” for 30 minutes in a small group, up to 15 people, at two different locations within the attraction. The Survivor/Walker Combo Experience can last as long as you want – but will be no less than 90 min (including the make-up process).
Hero Combo ($140.00)
The hero survivor/walker combo ticket allows you to have the ultimate “Survivor Experience.” Be made up as a Walker by a professional make-up artists with extensive make-up and “perform” in a small group, up to 15 people, at two different locations within the attraction. No time limit! The Survivor/Walker Combo Experience can last as long as you want (including the make-up process).
The Walking Dead Experience – Chapter 1 is a 30 minute full-throttle immersive attraction that drops you straight into the chaotic and terrifying world of the Walking Dead. Experienced in small (7 person) audience groups, Chapter 1 sends you on an adventure through the edge of a small town on the night the outbreak hit – the night zombies began their rampage and the social order began to unravel.
