Fear The Walking Dead – Sunday, August 23rd, 2015 (AMC)

This new series from AMC and Robert Kirkman will tell the story of the beginning of the zombie outbreak (during the time of Rick’s coma).  Set in East Los Angeles, expect the initial episode to look like a community clueless of what is pending.  We will finally see the outbreak begin and witness its quick rise to the apocalyptic event of the original series.  Being a new summer-debuting series, Fear The Walking Dead season one will last for six episodes.

The Walking Dead – Sunday, October 11th, 2015 (AMC)

The mega hit from creator Robert Kirkman looks to go even further than before this year.  Season two can expect an episode devoted entirely to a backstory, though of what has not been announced.  Expect more zombies than previously, as Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) stated that in one episode they worked with just over 300 “walkers,” whereas the most used at one time in the prior five seasons has been between 150-200.  Look for a further developing relationship between Rick and Morgan (likely with regards to Alexandria).  We can also look forward to more from cookie-baking Carol!

Heroes Reborn – Thursday, September 24th, 2015 (NBC)

Though not a comic book-derived show, Heroes Reborn (like its predecessor Heroes) is a superhero/superhuman story that seemed worthy of mentioning.  Heroes Reborn comes from the original 2006 series Heroes and will be a 13-episode event series that’s similar to the original. It will chronicle the lives of ordinary people as they learn about their extraordinary abilities. The show picks up at an unspecified time in the future, and so far the only detail we have about the past is that one year after the show’s beginning; Odessa, Texas, was left decimated from a terrorist attack that has sent those with powers, now called EVOs, into hiding for fear of their lives.
