On July 28, 2015, DC Comics will be releasing the direct-to-video animated film “Justice League: Gods and Monsters” on DVD, Blu-Ray, and digital download.  Set in an alternate universe, the Justice League is a brutal force that maintains order on Earth. Superman is the son of General Zod, who was rocketed to Earth as a child and raised by a family of Mexican immigrants. Batman is Kirk Langstrom, a scientist who has inadvertently transformed himself into a vampire in an attempt to cure his cancer, feeding on criminals to satisfy his hunger. Wonder Woman is Bekka, who was the bride of the New God Orion. The Justice League’s unaccountability is ultimately challenged by the world’s governments following the suspicious deaths of renowned scientists.

Take a look at the teaser trailer for the upcoming release of Justice League: Gods and Monsters with an interview with legendary artist, producer and animator Bruce Timm:

Chronicles

Prior to this film’s release, DC has put out Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, a three-part animated series featuring each of the Justice League members within that universe: Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.  Season One has already been released and Season Two has been approved and will debut next year with ten episodes.  Here are the three episodes for this season that have aired:

Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles – “Twisted”

Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles – “Bomb”

Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles – “Big”

Also running concurrently with the film, DC Comics will be releasing a four-issue miniseries prequel to tie-in with the movie.  The first issue will focus on Batman, the second on Superman, the third on Wonder Woman, and the final issue will depict the formation of the Justice League.  These comics will be written by J. M. DeMatteis and Bruce Timm.
