I’ve seen some amazing things over the years at the comic cons I have attended since 2001, but this year’s #C2E2 one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in comic con history happened yesterday while interviewing Robbi Rodriquez! Robbi of course is one of the three men who created the comic sensation Spider Gwen!
Robbi Rodriquez and I were in the middle of an interview (which will be published here exclusively on Popculthq.com.) when a mother and her most adorable newborn daughter who was cosplaying as a Baby Spider Gwen came up to Robbi with the oddest request I had ever heard!
“Will you sign my baby?!!”
Both Robbi and I looked at each other with disbelief! Robbi asked the lovely young mother if he had heard her correctly and sure enough we both had heard what we thought we heard.
So Robbi and I took pics of the cute baby girl who was sound asleep unaware of the awesomeness that was about to happen. The funny part was when the Mother asked for the autograph I assumed she meant on the baby’s forehead…….thank goodness that was not the case. Here are the awesome exclusive pics Popculthq took while there to witness this ultimate moment of cuteness!!
The mother had made the Spider Gwen cosplay costume months ago and was afraid the little baby would outgrow it before C2E2. The most adorable little custom Spider Gwen booties were also made. The baby Spider Gwen cosplay costume will be put up for auction or donation as the mom had told Robbi and I.
Comic cons are such a great time for fans and creators to mix and mingle and talk comics, get autos and even own some very cool original art from the plethora of comic book creators at these awesome events. I have seen a grown woman cry meeting her favorite artist and even got to see a couple get engaged in front of Amanda Conner (which I will also have an article on this con experience for the ages) and now seeing a baby get autographed by a famous comic book artist!! This is why I love to go to comic cons in general, you never know what to expect or see!!
