The hit show Arrow, starring Stephen Amell, has been on a roll since its inception. Each season has gotten better and introduced more characters from DC Comics. One character, however, is being put on the shelf. Deadshot, played by Michael Rowe, has become a fan favorite. But in response to a fan’s query regarding Deadshot’s future, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim went to Tumblr and had this to say…
“First, thanks for the kind words. I agree with you, our casting people — in Los Angeles and Vancouver — are the best. Unfortunately, Deadshot is off the table for the nonce.” -Marc Guggenheim
First appearing in season one, he has made sporadic appearances and seems to become more popular with each showing. The sharpshooter is a member of Amanda Waller’s Task Force X. So given his popularity and significant role in the Arrow universe, why would he no longer be involved in future plans for the show? It appears that due to Will Smith portrayal of Floyd Lawton (Deadshot) in next year’s Suicide Squad film, it seems Warner Brothers wants to give Mr. Smith an opportunity to showcase his version on the big screen.
